Ever wondered what two 135kg briefcases might do to your hands?!As the midday sun reached it’s highest point the temperature at the Southern Area Qualifier 2008 was about to follow suit. This sounded like a refreshing change from the stark metal, glass and bright flourescence of the gyms I’d been shooting till now - countryside, farm machinery, two world-class Strongmen - but my preconceptions disintegrated within minutes of arrival. Britain’s strongest man in 2006, Oli Thompson’s career was put dramtically on hold in 2007 when a deadlift training session resulted in a torn bicep. It seems Oli’s sights are firmly set on regaining his title in 2008.
